With such a great breed of pigeon as the Mookee, it is hard to find a bad feature. Mookees are perky with personality. They fly well and work hard to produce many babies. Better parents are hard to find. Their stance makes them look proud, and these little birds know how to strut.

At the show, the Mookee class is a fun one to compete in. The competition at the club meets is stiff. The club has decided to give out even more awards and the competition is sure to be even stiffer every year. At the shows everybody that’s able comes out and brings his best. Lots of great breeders are working with this great breed and more members are joining the club all the time. Good birds are available and the top breeders are willing to sell nice birds. Beginners really can get a good start with good stuff quickly.

The features of the Mookee make it a tough but fun bird to work with. Many people think it isn’t a hard breed to breed “good ones,” but they probably haven’t tried to breed them. The facial markings and two white flights are very difficult features to combine on the same bird. To put the right features on a well-typed bird is even harder. But when all the right bits and pieces come together on a well-conditioned bird, the Mookee is stunning.

I have other pigeons, but the Mookee is my favorite breed. They keep me busy with new challenges and goals every year. They have so many great things going for them. They keep getting more interesting every time I go into the loft. If you haven’t tried them, go ahead, make room for an extra pair or two. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll soon be adding on a new loft and asking yourself, “What’s not to like?”
