Welcome to the Web Home of theAmerican Owl Club This is the new home of the American Owl Club on the Web. We hope you enjoy the site and, if you don’t raise African Owl pigeons, that you will consider giving them a try. We have a great group of people in our club that love the challenge of raising this regal breed. The African Owl is a very old breed and has been in North America for over 115 years. The American Owl Club is one of the oldest specialty pigeon breed clubs in North America, having been formed in 1892. We hold 7 to 8 shows per year in the United States with a number of awards at each show. We publish 4 bulletins per year that keep our members up to date on all the latest happenings of the club. We have a strong Master Breeder Award system that is challenging and rewards persistence and long-term excellence in your breeding program. We love good competition and good fellowship with other African Owl breeders. Our officers consist of the President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. Our President is Ed Pointer of Oklahoma City Oklahoma. Ed is a Master Breeder of African Owls and has been breeding them for over 25 years. He has been active as an officer in the National Pigeon Association, owned and published the excellent pigeon magazine “Pigeon Debut” for 14 years and has been our President for over 12 years now. Our Vice President is Jerry Asper of Omaha Nebraska. Jerry has bred African Owls for over 25 years as well and is the first person to ever be named a Master Breeder of African Owls by both The American Owl Club and the National Pigeon Association. Jerry has been our Vice President for 4 years. Our Secretary/ Treasurer is Tim Heidrich of Villa Rica Georgia. Tim has been breeding African Owls for over 10 years and is very close to reaching Master Breeder status with the AOC. Tim has been the Secretary/Treasurer of the club for 6 years.
