To help the breeders and novices in selecting their birds for breeding and showing, The American Oriental Frill Club lists some of the more prominent faults of an Oriental Frill, starting at the beak:

 

1.          Twisted beak.

2.          Break in head beak curve.

3.          Stained beak.

4.          Flat head.

5.          Shell peak.

6.          Twisted peak.

7.           Low peak.

8.           Split eye.

9.           Lack of gullet.

10.         No frill

11.         White in frill (in Blondinettes).

12.         White in rump (of Blondinettes).

13.         Bare toes.

14.         Fish tail

15.         Twisted tail feathers.

16.         Twisted flight feathers.

17.          Roached wings (or side boards).

18.          Crooked keel

19.          Bishoped wings.
