AMERICAN CREST PIGEON CLUB CONSTITUTION

 

Article I – Name

This Organization shall be known as the American Crest Pigeon Club.

 

Article II - Purpose

The purpose of this organization is to encourage the continued improvement of the Giant American Crest and the Miniature American Crest pigeon through breeding, exhibition and the dissemination of information relative to their progress.

 

Article III - Membership

Any person or organization with a sincere interest in the development of the American Crest pigeon, Giant or Miniature, may become a member upon payment of the annual dues. The Board of Directors shall select honorary members.

 

Article IV – Dues

The annual dues shall be set by the Board of Directors.

 

Article V - Organization

Section 1. Officers comprising the Board of Directors shall consist of the following:

President

Vice President

Secretary-Treasurer

District Directors if elected in the future.

 

Section 2. Officers shall be elected by majority vote of the membership to a term of 2 years beginning on January 1 following the election. Any officer may be a candidate for reelection.

 

Section 3. A member or members selected and voted upon by majority vote of the members shall fill open positions on the Board of Directors.

 

Article VI  - Changes to the Constitution

Changes to the Constitution require 30 days notice in writing to the membership, and a 2/3 majority vote in writing to pass.

 

AMERICAN CREST PIGEON CLUB BY-LAWS

 

Article I -- President

The President shall assume the duties of Chairman of the Board of Directors, shall be responsible for the execution of the Constitution and By Laws, and shall receive and process all proposals for their amendment. The President shall preside at meetings of the membership and of the Board. The President shall take an active part in publicity and assist the Secretary in the dissemination of information by means of a newsletter.

 

Article II – Vice President

The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President. The Vice President shall be the Election Commissioner, and shall receive all ballots directly from the membership. The Vice President shall tally all ballots and promptly forward the results and ballots to the Secretary-Treasurer for publication. The Vice President shall assist the Secretary in the dissemination of information by means of a newsletter.

 

Article Ill – Secretary-Treasurer

The Secretary-Treasurer shall conduct Club correspondence, collect and receive all money due the Club, and pay bills undertaken by the Club. The Secretary-Treasurer shall make an annual financial report in the newsletter. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be responsible for issuing a newsletter to all members detailing current and forthcoming Club activities. The Secretary-Treasurer shall process all Club Meets, paperwork and awards. All files, money and Club property shall be surrendered to the newly elected Secretary-Treasurer at the expiration of the term of office.

 

Article IV –Election of Officers

Any member in good standing may submit names for candidacy of current members. Officers shall be elected every two years by ballot received in the newsletter. Ballots shall be marked and sent directly to the Vice President who also acts as Election Commissioner. Email balloting is acceptable. The election shall be completed and newly elected Officers declared who shall assume office on January 1st following the election.

 

Article V --- Dues

Annual dues shall be $15 for a single adult, $10 for a Junior under 18, $20 for a Family and $25 for Foreign membership.

 

Article VI -- Club Meets

National and District Club Meets, their location and awards, shall be determined along with other ongoing Club business and policy decisions by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

 

Article VII – Changes to the By Laws

Changes or amendments to the By Laws shall be voted on by the membership as follows;

1.                  By mail or email ballot with a simple majority required to pass.

2.                  By vote at a membership meeting if a quorum of 5 or more members are present, including at least one Officer.

          A simple majority vote of those present is required to pass.
