CONSTITUTION
AND BY-LAWS NATIONAL ENGLISH CARRIER CLUB
Article 1
Name
Section 1 (a)
This organization shall be known as the National English
Carrier Club.
Article 2
Object
Section
2 (a) The object of this club shall be:
1. To encourage the breeding
and exhibitors of English Carrier Pigeons.
2. To promote
friendliness and good fellowship among fellow members as
well as other Pigeon Fanciers.
3. To
stimulate interest through helpful information and printed
literature and further the development and popularity of the English Carrier.
4. To
maintain the Standards as set forth and to help and
otherwise assist in the revision of the said Standards for the betterment of the breed.
5. To sponsor
one (1) annual all age show and one (1) National young bird
show centrally located, and at least one (1) but no more than two (2) district meets in all of
our three (3) districts.
Article 3
Membership
Section 1
(a) Membership will be determined by the following:
1. Every applicant for membership in this club must be of
good moral character and may become a member upon payment of
the prescribed fee and agreement to comply with the
Constitution and By-laws.
2. The annual dues shall be $15.00 per year, becoming due
and payable January 1st each year and must be paid before
March 1st or membership will be terminated. Members in
arrears of dues shall not be entitled to any voice in the
club or any specials offered by the club for its members.
3. Reinstatement - Any member lost thru
non-payment of dues can be reinstated upon payment of the
annual dues to the club.
4. Membership of the club is unlimited; however,
the membership shall have the power by two thirds vote to
open or close any membership for unscrupulous dealings or
anything to the club or breed as a whole.
5. Junior Membership – The annual dues shall be $15.00
per year, becoming due and be paid before March 1st or
membership will be terminated. Members in arrears of dues
shall not be entitled to any voice in the club or any
specials offered by the club for its members.

Article 4
Meetings
and Shows
Section 1
(a) A business meeting shall be conducted one time each
year at our Annual Meet.
(b) Date, time, and place of the Annual Meet
shall be decided by the majority vote of the membership.
Prospective show sites must be submitted to the club
secretary by September 1st of that year. All show proposals
must include the name of the meet judge and all information
pertinent to the show such as rebates, awards, etc. No meet
proposal will be accepted if it does not include the Meet
judge. The club Secretary will send out ballots with all
show proposals listed by the second week of September and
all ballots must be returned by October 1st. All members
will be notified of the Annual Meet location immediately
after ballot return deadline.
(c) Each of our three districts (Eastern, Central,
& Western) are expected to hold at least one, but no more
than two district meets a year. Proposals for district meets
must be submitted at least one (1) month before the meet is
to be held. The same information must accompany district
meet proposals as Annual Meet proposals and all meets must
be approved by the club officials to qualify for Master
Breeder Points or club awards and specials. These officials
are the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and
the District Director of the district the meet is being held
in.
(d) Any special meeting may be called at the discretion of
the club officers, but no major changes or decisions can be
made without a vote from the entire membership.
Article 5
Quorum
Section 1
(a) Four
(4) members in good standing shall constitute a quorum at
any regular or special meeting.
Article 6
Officers and
Elections
Section 1
(a) The
officers shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, Publicity Director, and a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall consist of four (4)
members voted to office by the membership.
(b) Method of
election shall be by secret mail in ballot, by all members
in good standing.
(c) All
nominations must be made at, or before, the National Young
Bird Show in Louisville, Kentucky. Ballots will be sent out immediately after the National Young Bird
Show and newly elected officials will take office
at our Annual Meet.
(d) An
election committee shall be appointed by the President to
govern and handle the election of new officer
Article 7
Term of
Office
Section 1
(a) All
officers shall be elected to a two (2) year term and shall
serve until their successors are duly elected and installed.
