LOUISIANA MODENA CLUB CONSTITUTIONRevised 1-10-05ARTICLE I NameSection 1. This organization shall be known as the LOUISIANA MODENA CLUB. ARTICLE II ObjectSection 2. The object of this club shall be: To encourage the breeding and exhibiting of the Modena pigeon, to foster friendliness and good fellowship between fellow members and other breeders. To supply helpful and interesting information through printed literature and otherwise assist in the further development of the breed. ARTICLE III MembershipSection 3. Membership fees may be paid in any of the following classes: a. Individual adult membership inside the U.S.A.: The individual adult membership fee for all members is $10.00c per year. The fee entitles the member to all rights within the LMC, which includes voting, holding office, participation in all club shows and activities, and all club publications such as the bulletin.
b. Individual membership outside of the U.S.A.: All dues and fees must be paid in US dollars. Due to the increased cost of bulletin mailing, etc. the dues for members outside of the U.S.A. will be $20.00.
c. Junior Membership: Individuals who are 18 years old or younger on January 1 and meet the other requirements for membership may join as junior members for a fee of $5.00 and will be entitled to full individual membership privileges. Any junior member between the ages of 12 and 18 will be allowed full voting rights and privileges. Section 4. 1. Individual Membership Conditions: Any person of good character is eligible to apply for membership to the LMC by meeting the following criteria:
(a) Has paid the applicable membership fee.
(b) Has agreed to comply with the constitution and bylaws of the club and signed their membership application to abide by the governing rules of the organization.
(c) A member’s application for acceptance to the LMC is dependent on the Board of Directors approval by a two-thirds vote and their decision is final.
2. Right to Hold Office: No two members residing in the same household may hold more than one position on the Board of directors during the same period. No spouse or junior may hold office. All candidates for office must have at least three years membership collectively in the LMC or another LMC recognized pigeon club in his or her lifetime before running for office.
3. Removal: Any member can be removed at any time from membership or banned for a specified period by a two-thirds vote of the Board of directors if found to be in violation of the LMC Constitution or By Laws.
4. Dues and Eligibility: Membership dues are due and payable on January 1 of each year. Members may join at any time during the year, but must pay full dues the following January 1 regardless of the date on which they join.
5. Equal Membership Opportunity: No person shall be denied membership based on age, color, nationality, religion, or gender. ARTICLE IV MeetingsSection 5 All club meetings shall follow of business as listed below: (1) Call meeting to order (2) Recognition of special guests (3) Minutes of last meeting (4) Presidents report (5) Secretary/Treasurer report (6) Unfinished business (7) Installation of Officers (8) New Business (9) Discussion (10) Guest Speaker (11) Adjournment of Meeting ARTICLE V Method of Appointment or Election Section 6 1. Every third year, an election will be held to elect the following officers: President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. These officers shall make up the Board of Directors. These officers will be elected at the first club meeting of that year from the members in attendance at that meeting. The Candidate receiving the most votes by simple majority will be elected.
2. Should an officer be unwilling or unable to complete his/her term the President shall appoint another member to fulfill his/her term.
3. The judge or judges for the clubs lawn shows or annual meet will be elected by the members in attendance at the first meeting of each year.
4. The fee for the judge or judges, if any, must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the Board of Directors.
5. The President shall appoint as needed Committees. These Committees shall serve for a term of three years under the appointing President. ARTICLE VI CHANGES TO THE CONSTITUTION AND /OR BYLAWS Section 7 The Constitution and /or By Laws of the Louisiana Modena Club may only be amended or altered by a two-thirds majority vote of the Board of Directors. a. Proposed amendment changes by members must be presented to Secretary at or before any club meeting. The Secretary shall then present the proposed change to all members of the Board of Directors.
b. A proposed amendment that is submitted to the Board of directors shall be discussed by the Board. Once the matter has been discussed, the President shall call for a vote.
c. Proposed amendments that do not receive a two-thirds majority vote, the matter shall be terminated. A majority of the Board of directors must be in favor to re-open a discussion of a proposed amendment that had previously been terminated.
d. Once a proposed amendment is passed by the Board of Directors the amendment shall take place at once. |
