I never stop my pigeons from breeding. I pair them up in the Spring to breed my show team. During the Summer I pair them up for special needs such as color or for a certain trait I am trying to improve. During the Summer I only let them raise one baby each nest because of the heat and the molt. In the Fall I inbreed my very best birds to produce future breeders. I will put my best hens with their sons and best cocks with their daughters. These inbred young are excellent future breeders. Because I breed throughout the year I am constantly improving my family of pigeons.
