Obtain just a few quality birds from a successful fancier and then breed your breeders from these birds. If you get three pair just rotate the pairings so that you get 4 to 6 babies out of each combination. This should show you that you have a few that don’t produce quality babies with any of the others. And, you should find that a few birds have produced a few really nice young. These are your foundation birds. Next, breed the very best daughter to her father and the very best son to his mother. In just two or three seasons you will be able to put together 3 or 4 high quality closely related pairs. Now, you are on your way to building your own family of pigeons.
