Judging System

Calendar Master Breeder Program Judging System Judges Rating System

THE INDIVIDUAL MERIT SYSTEM OF JUDGING

(A Judging System Based on the European Judging system)

All official show meets sponsored by this Club shall use the following method of judging.

1.        "R"-Royal: (An award of EXCELLENCE) Champion: The highest marking shall be called and be designated in the marked catalog or show report by the letter "R ". This rating shall be reserved for those pigeons, which are near letter perfection in all respects and possibly would be given to no more than four (4) pigeons in a show of 100 pigeons. It is quite probable that this rating should not be given at all in shows where the exceptional bird is not found.  These birds will be chosen only from the Highly Superior group.

2.        "H.S." - Highly Superior: This rating is given only to outstanding specimens and probably not be given to more than eight (8) pigeons in a show of 100 birds (or 8 percent). Birds only in this, would be grouped to choose the Royal bird or birds. This is equal in meaning to first place.

3.    "S" - Superior: The majority of fine show pigeons would probably receive the rating of “Superior”, designated by the letter "S". This is equal in meaning to second place. An unlimited number of birds in a show can receive this award.

4.    "G" - Good: Designated by the letter "G", birds falling in this class are and can be useful as birds for breeding purposes. Those birds not in condition may also fall in this class.  This is equal to third place.

5.    "I" - Inferior: This last and lowest class shall be known as "Inferior' and be designated by the letter  ‘I”.  The use of these birds are not recommended for breeding purposes.

*approved 2002

6. Once the "S" & "H.S." birds have been selected the judge is encouraged to rank them, i.e. H.S. 1, H.S. 2, S1, S2, S3 etc... "G" & "I" birds would not be ranked.
